Five Nights at Freddy's Window Illusion

Scroll down, but beware of frights!

One glaring blank space I wanted to fill while setting up my annual Halloween display this year was a large window that was usually obstructed by dirty curtains. I tapped into an idea that I'd come up with last year, integrating the Five Nights at Freddy's IP into the window space by creating a faux workshop behind the window. I took to Blender and created an animation that I could project onto the curtains to create the illusion of backlit animatronics and pipes. Many of the animations for the characters were widely available online, but I did have to animate some rigs and motion myself from scratch.
People walking up the walkway may now see one of dozens of characters through the windows, some stopping to peer out while others just creep by. The window's distance from the old curtains that I am using as a projection screen adds a layer of motion parallax to sell the illusion. I love how it turned out, a small but welcome addition to the overall display!
