During the 2019 production of Newsies at Bellarmine College Preparatory, I was a member of the lighting crew and in charge of the show's projections. Between hanging lights, I was working in Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere to create the show director's vision for two separate sequences. "The World Will Know" depicts Jack Kelly using a stick of chalk to declare STRIKE! across a large chalk board. "King of New York" takes place in a pub featuring a series of advertisements along the rear wall. I created and operated the projections during these sequences of the show.
On the lighting crew, I hung lights in the catwalks of Sobrato Theatre and adjusted them based on feedback from our lighting director. I also operated the board, spotlight, and would change out gels or gobo's in the catwalks and on fly-rails. The final show also included a row of RGB flood lights on a cyclorama screen to vary the tone of the different scenes. I installed these and much more during my time on the lighting crew, which more details can be viewed of on the Lighting page of this website. In all, I worked on 12 theatrical shows.
