I recently decided to take on the task of creating a personal logo for myself. With this, I could have a symbol on my personal business cards, a header for my portfolio website, and solid branding if I decide to become a freelancer in the future! I've had plenty of experience using both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and instantly opened up a program to sketch a few design ideas down. I consulted with friends and initially started with my full initials, "NPC". They said this would set me apart since it's such a unique combination. That being said, I later cut it down to just "NC" since I do not use my middle name professionally. Below are my sketches and iterations of the logo over time.
The path I pursued was the one in the upper right with the stars in between the letter openings. The colors in the bottom row made it through to the end!
This was my first iteration. I planned to have a white variation alongside the colorful one but later scrapped this idea.

I eventually made the decision to cut the P from the logo since it felt out of place being so large. Doing so caused me to have to rethink my design, leading to the above.

This is closer to the final iteration. The lines are thicker and more balanced.

And here's the final result! The lines are thick and balanced size-wise, I retained the stars that I really enjoyed from the first concepts, and the colors remained mostly the same. I'm very happy with how it came out!
